The course includes BLS (Basic Life Support) procedures, management of illnesses, wounds, trauma, and cerebrovascular and cardiovascular emergencies.

BLSD: Resuscitation with the use of a defibrillator and airway obstruction relief for infants, children, and adults.

By participating in this course, you will learn the basic techniques to support vital functions (Basic Life Support) to handle an emergency situation using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), in accordance with ILCOR recommendations, on an adult or a child who is injured and unresponsive or without a pulse while waiting for Emergency Medical Services to arrive.

Recommended particularly for: students, teachers, athletes, instructors, law enforcement, volunteers, professionals, and ordinary citizens.

First part: Theoretical session  

• Theoretical session on cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults, children, and infants; 
• the use of the automated external defibrillator in adults and children; 
• the recovery position; airway obstruction relief in adults, children, and infants.  

Second part: Practical session  

• Practical session on airway obstruction relief in adults, children, and infants; 
• resuscitation using the automated external defibrillator in adults and children on high-quality manikins; 
• resuscitation in infants on high-quality manikins.  

At the end of this course, you will be able to 

• recognize the signs and symptoms of victims experiencing sudden cardiac arrest;
• provide appropriate assistance during respiratory or cardiac arrest, demonstrate proficiency in using and providing assistance with an AED; 
• list the procedures for the proper use and effective maintenance of the AED.
